International Festival of Literature in Buenos Aires.

Fotos-libreria-178Buenos Aires has many festivals. Most of them present very high quality programs. FILBA (Festival Internacional de Literatura de Buenos Aires) is an international reunion of writers that takes place every year in the city. It is an interdisciplinary exchange among writers, critics, philosophers, artists and the general public from all over the world.

This time, the festival will be held simultaneously in Buenos Aires and in Santiago de Chile.

The main activities Palo Santo Hotel recommend are:

- Raúl Zurita. A Chilean poet will read some of its work. September 25th, 19:30 at Malba (Av. Figueroa Alcorta 3415).

- Tobias Wolff. Interview to the American short-story writer and personal friend of Raymond Carver. September 26th, 19:30 at Alianza Francesa (Córdoba 946).

- “Escala de valores”. A debate with the English writer Adam Thirlwell about overvalued and forgotten books. September 28th, 19:30 at Malba.

- “Literatura de la imagen”. An encounter of film directors and writers: Edgardo Cozarinsky, Gonzalo Castro, Lucía Puenzo. September 29th, 16:00 at Malba.

If you happen to be doing tourism in Buenos Aires, Palo Santo Hotel suggests that this is a wonderful opportunity to visit the Malba (Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires) and Eterna Cadencia (a beautiful bookshop in Palermo Hollywood).

Palo Santo Hotel is very well located to access the activities of this festival. Last year, more than 22.000 people took part of the FILBA activities. They are all free and open to everybody. The festival goes from September 25th to September 29th in Buenos Aires and from September 28th to October 2nd in Santiago de Chile. Check the program.
